Kevin Roberts - Before & After- Determination, dedication and Crossfit.
Alright folks, normally, I would never, EVER>EVER>EVER do this, I post a lot of stuff on FB, but this is very personal and private to me, though I wanted to share to possibly help/inspire others. This was my first 100 day experiment with a ...new training program. Some of you may know, Crossfit. I’ve been an athlete all my life, and this hands down is the best training platform I’ve ever subjected myself to.
There are lots of naysayers out there that say Crossfit is a “fad,” sure a fad that has been around for 13 years. Moreover, lots of folks that say Crossfit is “dangerous”, yep, so is walking down the street.
My friends. From my perspective and long history of endurance training, Crossfit is a lifestyle paradigm shift. I work out harder than I ever would at a gym, I’m seeing results that I would have never achieved on my own. I’ve always taken care of my body and ate really well, but now I’ve taken that healthiness to another level. I’m surrounded by amazing “ordinary” people busting their asses every week, from busy Moms, to 20 somethings, to 60 somethings. All of us suffering together creating an extraordinary comrade.
At your gym, you have creepers that stare at you while you’re working out, at ours, we call it a family. Oh, btw, when is the last time your gym dedicated an entire workout to a fallen solider, policeman or firefighter? We do it every week.
Is Crossfit a cult? Probably. And we’re recruiting people of all shapes and sizes that want to make a change in their life!
This is me on day 1, and now day 100. No crazy supplements, only one protein shake post workout, and an extra meal during the day. I’m not huge, nor do I want to be, I’m the strongest I’ve ever been, and I feel the healthiest too.
I owe everything to our instructors: Sandy, Matt and Carl, and of course my (M-W-F 9:30 class) aka, my Sandy Dog Crossfit family (you know who you are, thank you!).
No nastygrams please! (I’m proud of all my hard work, and you will be too, if you try).See More
